Harvard - Yale Game 2003
On Saturday, November 29, more than 50 alumni joined 250 current students for a tailgate before The Big Game -- which was hosted at Yale this year. Yale lost the game, but everyone enjoyed the amazing (and unusual) 65 degree weather, and great catered spread. Thanks to the Student Social Committee and SOMAA for sponsoring this fun event.
Dinner to honor Art Swersey
On November 22nd, Craig Gordon '78 (Art's first TA) and his wife Nanette
hosted a lovely brunch in their San Francisco home to honor Art Swersey who
happened to be in town. Approximately 35 Bay Area alums attended to hear
Art discuss his current work and entertain the crowd with a few of his best
stories. Students also shared a few of their favorite Swersey memories.
Barry Nalebuff Speaks to SOM Alumni in Boston
On October 29, Barry Nalebuff spoke to SOM and Yale Alumni in Boston about his new book with Ian Ayres, entitled Why Not? He explained how he and Ian Ayres have transformed Robert F. Kennedy’s challenge to us, “to dream of things that never were and say ‘Why not?’" into a framework for developing ideas that can change how we work, live, and govern.
NY Dean's Reception
with Dean Garten Yale SOM Alumni Association of New York City held an Evening Reception with Dean Garten who gave them a brief update on the State of the School and his vision for the future of SOM. He also introduced Nevin Kessler, the new Associate Dean for Development. It was also a great chance to catch up with everyone after the summer, welcome the Class of 2003 to the community and hear about some of the exciting events the New York chapter has planned for the future.
